Helen Marie Lyon

1848 approx: Born in Maine to William Lyon and Elizabeth Lowell. (A1, p7-8)

1871 Apr 16: Traveling alone from St. Paul, Minnesota, Helen Marie Lyon arrives in Coneburg, a forerunner of Peabody, KS, to stake a homestead claim and take up residence. (1, p84)

George Cooper marries Helen Marie Lyon.

1880 Jun 9: The US Census shows George and Helen living in Catlin Twp. of Marion Co., KS with their three children, ____ E., Alice and Anna. (5)

The Cooper family were early members of the First Christian Church of Peabody, as were the Ulysse Huguenin family.
